Higher Efficiency for WWTP Hagen

From August until October 2013 was the plant Hagen a.T.W. at the heart of an optimization measure. The overall planning for the project was done by the consulting engineers from ibt. It was a significant improvement of the cleaning performance and noticeable reduction in energy costs.

The measure was co-financed with the European Fund for regional development. The company Hoegner Wassertechnik from Niersbach got the contract for execution.

The water drainage, emptying and cleaning of the tanks, the removal of the existing aeration, a partial concrete renovation of the tanks, the installation of storage boards, and the renovation of edge and baffle in the secondary settling tank belonged to the scope of work. Then the main air feeding pipes and the new, high efficient MESSNER Aeration Panels were installed. The basin went final exam back in operation. An energy saving was achieved by approximately 50 %.
