Sustainable rebuild of a SCHREIBER aeration tank

The wastewater treatment plant Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg has a capacity of 9.980 inhabitants. In 1999 the aeration system of the wastewater treatment plant has been changed in principle. The moving bridge was shut down and the aeration grids were removed. An anaerobic biological phosphorous removal zone was set up by the installation of two separating walls in the influent area. In the remaining aerated area of the circular tank 100 MESSNER Aeration Panels were mounted evenly distributed on the tank floor. Together with the RMU Plug Flow Technology mixers have no longer been required.

The new aeration system of the wastewater treatment plant Bad Münster am Stein-Ebernburg has been working without any disruption since 1999. All of the 100 MESSNER Aeration Panels are still in a perfect condition. Thus, no expensive and time-consuming change of the aeration system is necessary. Generally, the described rebuild amortizes itself in only a few years, saves money continuously then and enables maximum operation safety over many years.
