The unique MESSNER® Aeration Panel has been extremely successful in its use since the 1980s as a fine-bubble and highly efficient membrane aerator for oxygen supply in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants. The aeration panel is available today in both MESSNER® Classic and MESSNER® Compact formats. Our product portfolio is complemented by a range of additional solutions from the areas of aeration, process technology and service.

MESSNER® Classic

The proven MESSNER® Classic, provided with a long-lasting, low-maintenance and clogging-free membrane of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), does not contain plasticizers or other additives. The MESSNER® Classic is the perfect choice permanent as well as intermittent operation in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants.

Features:

  • Maximum oxygen transfer rate
  • Highest energy efficiency
  • Expected service life of up to 20 years
  • Material stainless steel A4

The aeration panel is installed directly on the bottom of the tank or in a lifting frame. When installed on the tank floor, the aerator is elevated and leveled to compensate for uneven floors. It is usually connected to the main air feeding pipe with a downpipe (DN32) connected from above via a individual ball valve. All underwater steel parts (aerators and fasteners) are made of acid-proof stainless steel (A4).

MESSNER® Compact

The new MESSNER® Compact, provided with a long-lasting, low-maintenance and clogging-free membrane of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), does not contain plasticizers or other additives. The MESSNER® Classic is the perfect choice permanent as well as intermittent operation in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants.

Due to its narrower shape, the MESSNER® Compact can be used flexibly in a wide variety of tank geometries.

Features:

  • Maximum oxygen transfer rate
  • Highest energy efficiency
  • Expected service life of up to 20 years
  • Material stainless steel A4

MESSNER® ReNew

With our MESSNER® ReNew program, after the service life of our aeration panels, they can be exchanged for refurbished MESSNER® Classic or MESSNER® Compact in a simple exchange process.
Sustainability is a main criterium of the MESSNER corporate philosophy. Taking responsibility by refurbishing the aeration panels in our own factory is a must for RMU. Our customers mainly appreciate the possibility of the exchange procedure, because we do not only take the used aeration panels back and give discount on the renewed aeration panels, but also give our full manufacturer’s warranty of 5 years (when installed in a municipal wwtp).

Direct benefits for our customers:

  • Significant cost saving
  • Minimal downtimes by one-to-one exchange
  • Full manufacturer’s warranty of 5 years
  • High oxygen transfer efficiency

Great benefits for nature and environment:

  • Resource-protecting reuse of materials
  • Low CO2-footprint
  • High energy savings
  • Expected service life up to 20 years

MESSNER® Control

The interactive control system for activated sludge systems!

Our MESSNER® Control is a very powerful, interactive system for dynamic and load-dependent oxygen transfer control in the activated sludge tank of the biological stage of a wastewater treatment plant. The oxygen concentration is regulated to a dynamic oxygen target value depending on the variables recorded via the corresponding online measurements (inlet quantity, ammonia NH4, nitrate NO3, etc.). In order to achieve the best effluent values on the one hand and an energy-efficient solution on the other.

During implementation, we attached great importance to modularity and interactivity in order to link the experience of the operating staff with ours and thus achieve the best possible system operation. The prerequisite for interactivity is the complete transparency of the system. In contrast to closed systems (“black box”), we want the user to have full insight into the processes and parameters of the control program. The deep understanding of the processes is the basis for an optimal cleaning result.

MESSNER® Control Features:

  • Interactive control system
  • Dynamic, load-dependent control
  • Open solution, implementation directly on SPS/DCS

MESSNER® LiftOut

MESSNER® LiftOut is a lifting frame that was specially designed for use in activated sludge tanks in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment plants and is always used when the tank cannot be emptied. By using the lifting frames, the aeration system can be lifted in and out of filled aeration tanks with the help of a mobile crane during ongoing operation without interrupting the rest of the aeration.

The number of MESSNER® Classic per frame and the number of frames is system-specific and are determined in the planning phase. This type of lifting frame is available for 3 to 6 pieces of MESSNER® Classic. For attachment, the lifting frame is equipped with a ladder profile on one side and a Y-bar on the other side. It is fastened with appropriate brackets either on the tank wall or the air feeding pipes. The individual HDPE air connection lines are routed down the ladder and fixed.

MESSNER® DosingUnit

The acetic acid dosing system MESSNER® DosingUnit was specially developed so that a maintenance measure in the form of an acetic acid treatment of the aeration panel can be carried out during normal operation without interrupting the cleaning process.

We offer the acid dosing service and the necessary dosing device MESSNER® DosingUnit in two different versions, as a mobile or permanently installed station. The prerequisite for this treatment is a correspondingly acid-resistant air feeding pipe between the dosing point and the installed aeration panels.

Mobile Dosing Unit:

The mineral and biological deposits on the surface of the aeration elements are usually gradually decomposed by the action of the acetic acid and are detached from the membrane, which reduces the pressure loss of the aeration system and improves the fine bubble quality again.

Permanently Installed Unit:

If not only occasionally, but a regular dosing process is to be expected due to a critical wastewater composition, for example with high calcium carbonate concentrations, we offer our permanently installed dosing unit. Here, acetic acid is automatically dosed via the control system at agreed time intervals, so that the aeration elements can be operated efficiently over the long term.

The stationary version of our MESSNER® DosingUnit will be designed tailormade specifically for your needs, i.e. depending on the number of aeration tanks or dosing points, the number of dosing pumps and the control of the valves etc. are designed individually.
